It’s All About Me

Well, this page is at least.

I hope the rest of the blog will have posts you’ll find interesting.

I am retired, so I have lots of time to learn new things and try new hobbies. Some of the hobbies I’ve enjoyed to a greater or lesser degree are: chip carving, caricature Santas and ornaments, book binding and watercolor pencil illustration.

I will show some of the examples of what I’ve done while learning these crafts.

I’m also learning how to use an iPhone to take photographs – both landscape and portraiture. I’ll talk about how I’ve progressed, what I’ve learned, how it has changed my photography. I’ll talk about hardware and software and how those affect my photography.

I hope you enjoy what I post. Use the contact page to email me, or post your comments on a blog post. I’ll see how well I can answer your questions.

The photo on the home page is a pen box I carved. I have 15 or 20 fountain pens and roller ball pens. I decided a few years ago I needed a box to keep them all in. It’s chip carved, stained with a polyurethane gel and finished with a satin polyurethane spray.
